This page will be the home for my Warmachine armies. Currently I have begun to collect the necessary models for Cygnar and Cryx. This site also lists some 'fluff' I have written for certain of my cygnar units, solos, & warcasters.

For more custom Warmachine units, models, jacks & casters, see Handcannon here: http://hc.bodhihouse.com/

First up is Cygnar Warcaster Altena Maigrey. Altena was written up with identical stats to Stryker. I have a personal dislike for Stryker's idealized image and background. It isn't until Warmachine: Apotheosis that he begins to attain some depth, but with such a vanilla background I still despise the character. Thus in personal games I have introduced my friends to Maigrey.

Maigrey is a Cygnar Warcaster who, like Stryker, came up through the ranks of the Stormblades. However that's where their likeness ends. Maigrey is an old, battle-scarred veteran of the Cygnaran Civil War and doesn't tolerate incompetance or foolishness from youngsters. As such, she and Caine barely get along...each only grudgingly accepting the others obvious competance.

You can find Maigrey's complete story and stats here:

Altena's model is a Rackham Confrontation Griffin of Akkylania model named Mira le Temeraire, or Mira 'the Reckless'. Almost nothing needs conversion to turn this gorgeous model into a tough and ready Cygnar ex-Stormblade caster, the only things that do need to be added are the smoke stacks and boilder on the back to enable the power field. Mira le Temeraire comes complete with a hefty greatsword & a brace a pistols on her belt.

Next up is my proxy Journeyman warcaster, Alaine Schezar. Alaine lets me field an additional Journeyman without getting the two confused. The model I've chosen to use is a Reaper model Alaine - 2725, Alaine, Female Paladin. You can see it on the left in it's original unmodified state. A little bit of work modified the dagger on her left into a holstered pistol and the addition of a pack & smokestack completes the powerarmor.

Alaine normally gets paired up with a Defender, but I've also tried running her with a Hunter and a Centurion as her warjack. Defenders I find make alot of sense for Journeymen because their ranged attack gives them good stand-off ability. Hunters get alot more hate, so its a bit more dangerous to have them range as afar afield as they would with another caster, but keeping one hunter back is usually a good idea to hit heavies that are charging your lines.

Next, a recent addition to my troops -- Lt. Ian Sharp. Sharp is the result of some ad-hoc games here at my apartment introducing friends here in Vancouver to Warmachine. One of my friends in particular loves playing a Cygnar army with Alistair Caine. Now Caine happens to be a favorite warcaster of mine as well, and I was getting tired of losing game after game to Caine's high def, spellstorm pistols and flash ability. I have to admit that my friend Jeff plays Caine the same way I do...I can finally see how annoyed my old Warmachine buddies back in Virginia must have been.

In any case, Lt. Sharp was percolating in my brain for some time now and I've decided that a counterpart to Caine would be perfect for this annoyance. Lt. Sharp is a Cygnar warcaster who came up through the Long Gunner ranks, eventually attaining command of a unit of Long Gunners. Despite his ability in the field, Sharp never failed to embarrass his commanding officers and superiors and thus ended up one sticky assignment after another. The fact that he manages to extricate himself from these assignments with most of his Long Gunners intact has led to a certain noteriety among the upper echelons and some small measure of support among the troops. In fact when most commanders face tough odds, the order inevitably comes through to send for Sharp's Company, or Sharp's Shooters.

Lt. Sharp wields a custom designed double barreled rifle that permits him to fire twice without reloading, and up to another two times by cycling the revolving bullet cylinder. Lt. Sharp is able to make crack shots against targets that choose to hide behind others while protecting his own troops with smoke from his power armor and the battlefield that he magically draws to his position.

Ian Sharp has identical stats to Alistair Caine with two exceptions. The spell Flash has been replaced by Fog of War - as Flash is specified as being unique to Caine & Caine alone. Lt. Sharp also has a new Feat - Better Lucky than Good. Once per game, Sharp gives all long gunner under his command firing independently the 'Snipe' ability (which allows them to deal 1 point of damage instead of rolling damage) and gives them an extra die on attack rolls, dropping the lowest one, manipulating luck itself to cause targets to zig when they should have zagged, zag when they should have zigged and sometimes inexplicably to stand still.

Here's Epic Maigrey, a completely unique warcaster that deviates from my 'use the same stats but change the fluff' philosophy. Epic Warcaster Commander Altena Maigrey is a Dragoon, using the rules for cavalry found in Warmachine Superiority. Her Stormblades have become the first unit of Stormlancers and she leads them atop Thunder, her spirited Caspian stallion.

Army of Ord

One of our players is now picking up models to start playing the Ord as a faction in Warmachine using the rules in Handcannon 7 & 8. You can view the minis we're using here.
