These sketches represent the development of my shadowrun character, Macavity "The Mystery Cat".
In the role-playing game, Shadowrun, Macavity is a charismatic hacker and martial artist who is as active outside the world-spanning Matrix as he is inside it. He's a very young character, only in his early 20s but with a lot of experience under his belt. In acting the character I drew from a variety of influences, describing him as a cross between Jet Li, Tom Cruise, and Christian Slater.

This was drawn in March of 2002, IIRC. Note to new artists,
it is EXTREMELY important to date your works. This lets you track your
own progress and gives yourself a reference to events that were going on
in your life at that point in time, should you ever decide to do something
like this. This sketch is an early depiction at my Shadowrun character, Macavity.

2002 to reach the form it is here. An early attempt at depicting my Shadowrun

I particularly like the mouth and feet of this picture. I think the pose was very
dynamic and lent alot of innate movement to the piece. |

Drawn in January of 2002, this sketch was a revision to a previous
sketch done to work on body proportions. I particularly like the draping
of the trench coat in these sketches. |
| A more recent piece, this was the third attempted sketch in my new sketch
book, late April of 2003. The girl came out very well from the waist up. A
lot more depth to this picture than my previous ones. There's some corruption
to the image from the scanner I have. At some point I'll try to correct and
clean it up in Photoshop. |

A very nice pic of Macavity wearing his trademark respirator which is styled
as the snarling mouth of a panther. I really like the way the face came out with
the duality between the respirator and the fangs on the respirator giving the
character a rather fierce look. As you can see from the pic, I learned to date!
