This allows local telcom companies to double the local signal capacity wherever and whenever their infrastructure is overwhelmed by bandwidth demand. Ducted fans help keep this semi-rigid aloft and rear-mounted methane turbines both generate electricity when stationary, and give it an impressive high speed for an airship to shuttle to and from problem areas.

Cross Applied Technologies offers this advertising blimp in conjunction with Goodyear as a portable big-screen for advertisers to display everything from commercials to stock-market tickers, to government and news broadcasts. The Madison Ave is especially popular in built-up areas with low infrastructure, such as the areas bordering the Redmond Barrens. Downtown, corporate airspace and the prevelence of buildings equipped with large ad-screen space makes the blimp a rarer sight.

Wuxing Pelican

A medium-sized electric blimp designed for executive transport and personal use, the luxurious Wuxing Pelican features amphibious operation with an external gondola that incorporates a boat-shaped hull for landing and motoring on water.

The Pelican is driven by five ducted fans in the rear, and mounts a pair of ducted thrusters capable of blowing air from one side of the ship to the other for quick turns and easy manuverability. The gondola is large enough to seat and sleep half a dozen passengers and includes an outside deck.
