Background

David was born at sea to unknown parents. Their ship sank off the coast of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, but David was rescued by an Aleut who happened to be in the area and taken in. He was raised as a member of the tribe, never knowing the names of his parents or even his own last name. The name David came from the ID bracelet that was around his wrist when he was found.

The tribe that adopted David was an odd one. Nearly every member of the tribe is magically active in some way, from adept warriors to numerous hamans that allow the tribe to survive in isolation as much as possible. David was no exception to the norm, manifesting physical powers at a relatively young age. Trained in the arts of combat by those around him, David spent much time on the water kayaking and staring at the horizon. Needless to say, he was overjoyed when offered a chance to leave the isolated Aleut village.

The elders proclaimed him worthy, and David was sent out to Seattle to reclaim an ancient Aleut artifact from a collector there. Unfortunately, David was unused to the security measures of modern Seattle and ill-informed as to the customs of the town. His odd appearance and ill manners caught the eye of the local law enforcement, and, sensing an arrest, chose to follow him. He broke into the building holding the artifact and was quickly captured by the Lone Star officers following him.

En route to the police station, David managed to free himself, with the artifact, and fled to the docks. In desperation he signed on with a pirate ship and agreed to work for them in exchange for a ride home. The pirates had other deeds in mind, and, after taking him home, attempted to loot and pillage David's home. The tribe managed to hold them off, and, once again, David escaped with the artifact and returned it to the Elders. David was confined to the tribe's village for the remainder of the year as punishment for his near-failure, and, once released from his confinement, he begged for any opportunity to leave tribe. The Elders finally allowed him to leave on his own, provided he checked back with the tribe once every three months. David signed on with a pirate crew and traveled the world seeking adventure, keeping his word to the Elders. The details of his latest mission are unknown, but he nows travels with the pirate Belle Morte, searching for something...
