Background

An Ji Hyun came to Seattle to become a shadowrunner. In classic razorgirl style, she decided to hire her body out to a Bunraku Parlor in return for the steady influx of cash she needed to get the mods to beat out other street samurai. Madame Lee's was only too happy to get a willing Bunraku convert, and paid for her skillwires in return for a 3-year contract. Anju was fine with it at first, the data filter meant that she never recalled any of her Johns, and the money she was able to put aside helped pay to upgrade the skillwires that were already implanted far above the level of the other bunraku girls.

She had a brief tiff with Madame Lee after she got titanium bone-lacing, as her recovery time from that ended up extending her contract another 6 months. Also, the bone lacing increased her weight, something which not all patrons were happy about. She started noticing odd scars and a different kind of soreness after sessions at Madam Lee's. Suspicious, she started poking around, picking up some electronics to see what happened when the data filter was turned on.

The mystery deepened however, as she found that she was frequently taken from the room to somewhere else, and sometimes gone for weeks at a time. More and more unsettled, she purchased a spider drone and a programming chip to modify the drone's programming to follow her.

Unable to break her bones, Allair had settled for pulping her into a mass of burises and then using wires to slowly flay her alive.

After Vox, Tryk, & Macavity rescued her from Allair's twisted fantasy, she focused immediately upon Vox. He was doing exactly what she wanted to do, and this Macavity fellow seemed like her ticket to get it. It helped too, that Macavity had her patched up. Her work with the Arachnoid spider drone left her curious as to what else she could do, and Geist's use of drones to do everything left her suitably impressed. She needed to break off ties with Madame Lee's as she was sure that the Yakuza wouldn't just let her go if she surfaced again after 'dying' at the APN. So she struck a deal with Macavity. Employee for a skinjob and a vehicle control rig. He agreed and hired her on as a bodyguard, machinist, and pilot.
