About the Artist

Arnand Kularajah is a jack-of-many-trades who became an artist. He spent many years of his youth with the violin at Westminster Conservatory of Music and playing with various orchestras. During High School he worked at Hamilton Television assisting in the running of the studio and posting Public Service Announcements. He has flown all around the world, from Malaysia & Australia to the UK & Norway and resided in London, Montreal, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Vancouver, and now Los Angeles.

He studied at Stevens Institute of Technology for 5 years to receive a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics and a Minor in History, but became involved with Skyroom Studios as a sound recording engineer. This led him to inquire at the School of Visual Arts in NYC about their CG Animation program. With the knowledge of what was needed in order to get into that program, he spent 2 years teaching himself to draw, applied and was accepted at Vancouver Film School's 1-year immersive 3D animation program to graduate in December 2005. He worked on Venus Rises, supplying CG Models for several ships, Previsualization for CG sequences and acting as a researcher, and technical consultant on the physics behind space-travel. Currently, he is employed on the show, Sucker Punch and has worked as a Digital Asset Manager for that movie through Pre Production, Production in Vancouver and now Post Production in LA.

During his time at Stevens he fenced on the varsity fencing team, which lead him to join the Markland historical reenactment group to learn period fencing, studying the Rennaissance fencing manuals of George Silver & Giacomo Digrassi alongside techniques of Japanese swordsmanship and the martial arts. He has spent years doing equitation (horseback riding), archery, and participating in period acting roles at the Virginia & West Windsor Rennaissance Faires. Oh, yes...he enjoys dancing the night away at goth clubs.
